ENERGYbits Review

So if you're on twitter at all, you've probably heard about ENERGYbits - or maybe you've heard #poweredbybits mentioned?!  Maybe you know what they are, but maybe you have absolutely no clue at all.  Well, I had never tried these tiny little pieces of food before now.

ENERGYbits are little algae tabs that are full of nutrition!  They don't have any caffeine, sugar, or any other extra chemicals.  I mean really - who wants to put all that garbage into their body?!  Each tablet is pure plant-based nutrition.  The only ingredient in each tablet is Non-GMO spirulina algae (which is a superfood).

The tablets are really tiny and as the sample package I received says, "It's OK to swallow".  When I took mine, I took them down with a glass of water.  One serving size is 30 (one calorie each).  Alternatively, you can chew them, put them in your food, or how ever else you would like to consume them.  Taking them with my morning meds was the easiest.

The morning I took my ENERGYbits I had just woken from 2.5 hours of sleep and was heading to work.  I could not sleep at all during the night and had an 11.5 hour day at work the day before.  I was completely drained, sluggish, and just barely moving.  When I walked in the door at work, I actually had co-workers asking me if I was going to make it through the day.  A little while later, I had a sense of relief I guess you could call it because I didn't even think about being tired anymore - I was just going on with my normal work day - doing TONS of paperwork and was able to focus to get it all done.  Now for someone with bipolar, not getting any sleep, and being able to focus on a task - that's a BIG ordeal!  I really do believe that I have ENERGYbits to thank for helping me get through my work day!

So...the pros:
  • I made it through my day!
  • Small tabs
  • Easy to swallow
  • When you buy the full serving, then come in a nifty tin that you can carry your daily serving with you (picture below)
  • Awesome support from the company (www.twitter.com/ENERGYbits - my most frequent contact with them)

My cons:
  • They have a fishy smell (I mean, they are algae after all)
If you need to get that pep in your step or something to help you get some energy before a race, you go out biking, or whatever you need may be, I highly suggest ENERGYbits!
Also, check out the other bits they have (RECOVERYbits, VITALITYbits, and SKINNYbits)
